The Vitamin Scholarship was first launched for activities related to vitamin products (including vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6 B8, B9, B12, C, E, H, beta carotene, canthaxanthin, methionine, and products containing or derived from vitamins, including animals that consumed vitamins) such as food and nutritional research or education, food-related programs, and/or consumer services or consumer protection activities.

To corroborate this, prospective thesis-based master’s and doctoral students with a first-class or something close who intend to pursue studies and research related to vitamins and vitamin-related products are eligible to be considered for this scholarship. Successful applicants are to accept the offer at the earliest possible term within their first year  

What the Scholarship Offers

Successful applicants for the Vitamin Scholarship Masters Scholarship get to receive $19,000 per year for one year. 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the opportunity, applicants have to meet certain requirements as listed below:

  • Canadian and international students are eligible to apply.
  • You must be enrolled in a thesis-based program that researches vitamins and/or vitamin-related products.
  • You must have spent less than eight months in your program as of May 1 of the current academic year.

NOTE: Only master applicants are eligible.

Application Procedure

Follow the process below on how to apply for the Vitamin Scholarship Masters Scholarship at Dalhousie University for the 2024-25 academic session: 

  • Applications will be rerouted to the departmental judges as applicants make the submissions. Applicants can withdraw and re-submit their application at will until the specified deadline. Please note that your department may have an earlier internal deadline if it wishes to provide feedback prior to the final submission deadline. It is recommended that you check with your department to confirm their internal deadline in advance.
  • Apply through the Harmonized Scholarship Process.
  • Your department will review your application and nominate you if eligible.
  • Check with your department for an internal deadline. (General deadline remains January 16, 2025)
