What the Scholarship Offers

The International PhD Fellowship in Journalism and Media Studies at OsloMet – The Metropolitan University, Norway 2024-25 offers a funded opportunity for prospective applicants as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the opportunity, applicants have to meet certain requirements as listed below:

  • Countries Eligible: All nationalities are welcome.
  • Acceptable Course(s): Any journalism or media studies-related course that the university offers
  • Acceptable Standards: Candidates must fulfill the requirements listed below:
    • Possess a master’s degree with a B or higher in journalism, media, or communication, or other related field (120 ECTS). In some circumstances, 90-credit MA degrees may also be evaluated.
    • Strong analytical abilities, the ability to work independently, teamwork, and professional involvement.
    • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
    • Acceptance for this fellowship post is contingent upon admission to the Faculty PhD program. After admission, a PhD program’s final plan must be authorized and decided upon within three months.
    • Background in AI research and/or development that is relevant is preferred.
    • Prior knowledge in media creation, production, and/or research.

Application Procedure

  • The following paperwork has to be submitted by the application deadline:
    • Resume, certifications, letters of recommendation, and diplomas (with ECTS grades included).
    • Project description in English or Scandinavian, no more than ten pages.
    • Thesis for master’s degree.
    • Pertinent research in science.
    • A list of potential papers and talks at worldwide conferences and seminars.
  • Applications that are not complete will not be accepted.
  • Applicants cannot access the fund unless they obtain a login ID.
