Primarily for undergraduates, the scholarship is designed to help bright students from developing countries achieve their dreams of international degrees. 

A Background

Launched in 2017, the Douglas College International Student Scholarship was launched to support undergraduate students who are majors in athletics. The scholarship is designed to alleviate the financial challenges of international students and eliminate the disparity between the fees of international and domestic students.

Located in British Columbia, Canada, successful applicants get to enjoy the culture and lovely weather of British Columbia. The application deadline for the scholarship opportunity is May 31 / September 30 (annually, courses like Child, Family & Community Studies, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Humanities, and Science & Technology are the only eligible courses for the opportunity).

What the Scholarship Offers

The Douglas College International Student Scholarship offers funding for undergraduate applicants across all international countries. Also, irrespective of your field of choice, the Douglas College International Student Scholarship is for all, irrespective of your race or ethnic group.

With this scholarship, successful applicants stand to get the following:

• Tuition fee coverage up to CAD 7,000

Eligibility Criteria

• Languages: English proficiency required
• Countries: Open to all international students
• Academic Requirements: High School Diploma with a minimum 60% GPA or equivalent
• English Language Proficiency: TOEFL iBT (minimum score 83) or IELTS Academic (minimum overall band score 6.5)
• The scholarship is awarded based on the student’s academic performance throughout the year. Annually, up to five deserving students will be selected, with the scholarship amount distributed equally across the Fall and Winter semesters.

Application Procedure

The application window opens on 1 June 2024.

• Secure an admission offer from Douglas College and proceed to apply for the scholarship. Download and complete the scholarship application form.
• Compile and submit the following documents to Douglas College International Admissions:
  • Completed and signed application form
  • International waiver for admission information access
  • Passport and study permit scans (if applicable)
  • Academic transcripts
  • Proof of graduation with certified translations (if necessary)
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Non-refundable CAD 100 application fee receipt (payable via Flywire Payment Portal for Douglas College)
• Note: Verify program availability with Douglas International at dciadmissions@douglascollege.ca before paying the application fee.
