The scholarship gives students $1,400 to help with their school costs. This helps students worry less about money and spend more time on their research and classes. The scholarship is given to students who have the best grades and show they can do well in their studies. It’s the university’s way of helping smart students do even better.

A Background

The Myer Horowitz Graduate Scholarship started because of the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) at the University of Alberta. It’s named after Myer Horowitz, who used to be the president of the university. The scholarship was made to help students with their money problems and to say thank you for the good work they do for the university’s research. It shows that the GSA cares about graduate students.

The scholarship began with the idea of making a fund to always support and celebrate the best students. Over time, the scholarship has changed a bit, but its main goal is still the same: to give money to students who have excellent grades and to encourage them to keep learning and discovering new things.
