What the Scholarship Offers

The International PhD Scholarship in a Justice-based Approach at Queensland University of Technology, Australia 2024-25 offers a funded opportunity for prospective applicants as follows:

  • A stipend of $32,192 per annum to support living costs for up to 3.5 years, tax-exempt and indexed annually.
  • For domestic students, a Research Training Program (RTP) Fee Offset is funded by the Australian Government.
  • International students receive a tuition fee sponsorship for their research degree.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the opportunity, applicants have to meet certain requirements as listed below:

  • Must meet the entry requirements for a QUT Doctor of Philosophy, including any English language requirements.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree with honors or a master’s degree with a significant research component.
  • Have knowledge, interest, and/or experience in fields related to climate change adaptation, planned relocation, and climate justice.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and/or quantitative social science research methods).

Application Procedure

  • Email Dr. Annah Piggott-McKellar with a two-page Expression of Interest (EOI) detailing your responses to the eligibility criteria and the research approach you would take.
